The joint conert of Ko Nakajima and Koji Ohashi will be held on May 3, from 18:30 at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall. This concert is dedicated to the children of Africa every year, and this year, the concert will be held for celebrating of the diplomatic relation between Japan and 3 african countries, South Africa, Mauritania and Burkina Faso. Ko et Koji are active for 32 years in Milan, Italy. Let's enjoy the international opera singers' brilliant performance. The access to the Opera City is as follows : http://www.operacity.jp/access/
This spring Ko and Koji visited Mauritanian Ambassador to hand the donation for Mauritanian children.

Visa application was revised from October 6, 2009 as follows :
Short stay (up to 3 months) : 77US$ or the equivalent amount of Yen Long stay (from 3 months to 1 year) : 116US$ or the equivalent amount of Yen For the applicant who has the Diplomatic passport or the Official passport, there is no charge for visa application

Inauguration of President
|
His Excellency Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz was inaugurated Wednesday August 5, 2009 as President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania for the mandate of 5 years after his victory in the 1st ballot of the Presidential election of July 18, 2009 which had the participation of 9 other candidates thanks to the implementation of the framework agreement of Dakar among the main Mauritanian political parties having allowed the consensual organization of this ballot. This ceremony saw the participation of several representatives of delegations of the friendly countries and the international organizations as well as the members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Mauritania.

From February 26, 2009, application fee for VISA is required as follows :
Transit (1 to 3 days) : JPY1000 Short stay (3 days to 3 months) : JPY2500 Long stay (3 months to 1 year) : JPY7500
In addition, the date to be issued will be in mimimun 4 days from the date of application.

With regards to the national authorities decision to allow Mauritanian citizens established overseas to take part in the up coming presidential election scheduled for June 6th,2009,an electoral registration list will be opened for registration at Mauritanian Embassy in Tokyo from February 1st to March 15th ,2009.
This registration list will be open to all Mauritanian citizens who are at lest 18 years old at the time of registration and who are resident in Japan , South Korea , Malaysia or Sultanate Brunei.
Those who are willing to take part in this event , must show up at the Mauritanian Embassy in Tokyo and present an identification card or valid Mauritanian passport.
